The gifts of God are for the edification of the body of Christ. The word edification means to learn or teach. The gifts are not for someone to treat as a seer or for those that are unwilling to learn how to let the spirit show them as to what they are to do in life. Far to many have used the gifts at their conveniences when they feel they can run to those that have learned to flow in the spirit. I have found that many want to run to a prophet for instructions. A prophet is to tell of the things that are going to be and a message from God. Not a daily road map for the people. Prophets are to teach the children of God to allow the spirit of God to speak to them. Not to run to ever time they are in need of an answer. When doing so one is turning to man and not God for we are to turn to God for what ever we have need of and not a prophet. If people would learn to seek God and His will for their lives they would find a much better way of life. God can and will speak to all of His children. These gifts are being misused and it was not Gods plan. The prophets are wrong when they allow those to come running to them and not teach them to turn to God.
