Hell, this is a subject that I have thought on much
I will do my best
to write on this and try to make sense of what is on my mind, I trust it may
clear up a lot of confusion, if not for those that read this, possibly it will open my understanding in a clearer way. For
this is not an easy topic to write on.
I have had a lot
of time to think on this issue of hell and as I have told many I was brought up in an environment, taught that at anytime
you could mess up with God and be as lost as a goose. This is a fear tactic I know, yet it is something I know many are and
have been having to deal with day in and day out.
This also has caused
many to not even get started with walking with the Lord for it has been made to appear to be hopeless to even try to serve
the Lord oh yeah,. I am going to try and clear this matter up but only with the
help of the Lord.
A lot of talk goes
on about heaven and more so than years ago, for years ago the most popular (if I may call it that) message was on hell.
The question is, how does one truly know they will
not end up in hell? The passage of scripture that has caused most of this doubt (if I may call it that) is .St. Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not
every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven.
22 Many
will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy
name done many wonderful works?
23 And
then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
What in this world are
people suppose to do with such words spoken by the Lord? The only way that this could possibly be cleared up, is we
are going to have to go back a little in the passage to the subject matter or topic
and what He was speaking on pier to theses words. The problem with many is taking words out of context, such as jumping for
one subject to an entirely different subject.
Here we find what the Lord had been speaking on was
about judging a brother and He even went so far as to call them hypocrites
due to the fact they were actually trying to correct a brother and or pass judgment on a brother Here was where He was speaking on getting the mote out of your own eye first , in other words mind your
own business, ( this has truly been an issue with so many trying to correct others when in fact the Lord is making it very
plain they need to clear up their own blindness first)this was were He was also talking about you
cannot gather good fruit from a corrupt tree and a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit. Here He also was warning the people
on false prophets that come to you in sheep clothing but that inside they are raving wolves.
Here He also goes into the fact that if we ask it shall be given or seek we shall find and knock and it
shall be opened unto you. Now I ask you does that sound like a God that is just waiting on people to make a mistake so He
can cast them into hell.
So it is very clear that
Jesus was speaking to what is considered a mixed crowd those that were His people and those that were not His true followers.
Now how it that so many have misconstrues this word and has been applying it to all the people?
Do you really want me to tell you what I feel in my spirit and what the Lord has opened my understanding
on this matter is? I will anyway. People use what ever they can to scar one into believing, this has been an on going problem,
you can say what you will but it has caused division among the people and has brought about fear in the hearts of the people.
By using scar tactics it
has proven to have an effect on many and they have started out operating in fear. It has only worked for a season and the
seeds that were sown in the people were actually corrupt and surly was not how the Lord has ever proven to be.
If this were true it would
be that while Jesus was here on the earth He would have never gone out to where the real need was and He sure would have not
told the thief on the cross beside Him that he would be with Him in paradise.
The Bible is filled with
promises and assurances from the Lord as to what He has done for us.
Why are the false prophets
using scar tactics? Well, Jesus made it clear the false prophets are raving wolves, a raving wolf does nothing but scar the
living daylights out of little sheep, and does nothing but tare apart destroy the flock.
Heaven is for His people
and we cannot ignore the fact hell is spoken of in the Bible as well but by reading the Bible you will find hell was made
for the devil and his angles and by no means was it ever intended to be a place for God little ones.
It does say that it has
enlarged its self. But just what was the topic being spoken on concerning this matter of hell enlarging its self? Isaiah 5
speaks of hell enlarging its self speaking of the vineyard bring forth wild grapes instead of grapes. This could be the difference
between good fruit and evil fruit. Next passage is in the New Testament it speaks of going into everlasting punishment dues
to the fact that there were those that were hungry and were not fed , naked and were not clothed, sick, etc. this was a warning
to the people to care for those in need and by not doing so were in danger of punishment.
God is love and if we are
drawn by His true spirit it will be due to the fact He loves us and desires to give us life and it more abundantly. God does
not have to use scar tactics in order to reach a lost soul, quite the contrary. For what good would it do if all God did was
use hell to scar people into loving and following Him? That to me would be a controller that only got people to follow Him
because they were frighten into serving Him? This would make absolutely no sense what so ever and by no means would it be
a relationship founded on love, comfort and trust, For if I only serve God because I am afraid of Him it is not a true relationship
what so ever.
God’s love is far
greater than fear; God’s love leads one out of darkness, out of fear. God’s love pulls people out of hell, not
holding hell over the peoples head in order to keep them in line.
The reason I serve the Lord
is because of His love for me and how He proved just how much He loved me, when He reached way down and picked me up and planted
my feet on higher ground. Any other way would be less than real love, would have no foundation what so ever. I tell you that I am going to serve God because He loves me and not because He scares the living daylights out of
me.
I pray this has opened up
your mind to what God is truly all about , for the passage of scripture that most know is , For God so loved the World, that
He gave His only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in Him shall not parish but have ever lasting life. Now that is a promise!
