This message is going to be geared towards
the church and some of the duties that God expects the church to do, have already given to the church in the bible.
I
wrote a little about it in one of the other series and that the Lord called his house the store house and he gave it that
name for a very good reason.
Store house means, an abundant supply or source, a building for storing goods (as provisions).
One has to ask this question, is the church providing the services or have we become a place to gather to pray the
same prayers, sing the same songs, or are we the actual store house, a place of provisions?
If we the church would
become the entire way that God have assigned each member to be, I feel we would see many more things take place as far as
the work of the Lord.
God was not just talking about a place for people to come to fill up the pockets of the preacher
or to have a bank account that would choke a horse, which is pathetic.
We the people have heard enough from selfish
leaders about the tithes and offerings, how we are suppose to be brining our tithes and offerings into the store house for
it was never and I mean never to make a leader rich, it is not to be stuffed down in his or her pockets for self. It was so
the store house had provisions and to be prosperous.
Think of all the needs that are right in the each community and
going unnoticed by non caring church groups.
When you read what Jesus said, I was sick and you visited me not, in
prison, hungry, naked, etc, what do you think he was just talking to be talking? No, he had given the members, not just a
preacher but for all, an assignment to carry out.
So many of the wonderful church members have great talents that
are not being used and I am not talking about singing or playing some kind of an instruments. I am speaking of having the
wisdom and knowledge to further the gospel and work in the community as well. It was never meant for just a preacher to do
it all.
Each member should have something to offer to the work of the Lord and come expecting to help not just to
get help.
Far too many have been told to sit down and listen when in fact why are we just coming inside a building
and sitting down? Are we not supposed to be working for the Lord?
So now back to the good stuff a church can start
doing, the church can become a real blessing to have a food bank in your church.
Matter of fact all churches should
have been having them all along and funds to help people find jobs and get started back to work, there are so many wonderful
things that a body of people can do to help their community.
The reason why so many have failed at conducting a successful
project such as food banks is they are not following the way they did in the bible in the early church. The Apostles were
the ones in charge of seeing to it that all was fair and given to those that had need on a daily bases.
The church
should be a blessing to all, not just their members or their leaders, the church needs to get out from behind their walls
and roll up their sleeves if they truly want to see a revival this is the foundation and the beginning of a real revival.
Churches start by reaching out, stop thinking all about self and start helping those that are down and out. Put those
church members to work becoming an outreach, assign some to over see fund raisers, make some money for the work of the Lord
instead of taking, become a money maker for the work of the Lord.
You can have the wisdom of the Lord as to how to
set up a food bank and help people that have real needs to help feed their families.
You can tell those that are sincere
and those that are just in it for a free ride, but the church should never turn away a hungry people both in the natural as
well as the spiritual.
The church is the city on the hill, not just sitting on a hill to be up there showing off as
to how much they are blessed but to shine out the light for those that are lost to find their way.
The body of Christ
can use the food shortage that is to come to glorify the Lord by being ready for God's little ones and turn it around all
for the good of the work of the Lord.
So churches get prepared to go to work and get busy learning how to be a working
member of the body of Christ.
