St. John 1: 26 when John was baptizing people, he said, I baptize with water; but there standeth one among you, whom ye know
not.
Here these people were not even aware that Jesus Christ the Lord was standing among them, being so caught up with self
and their being baptized that they did not even know Jesus was right there in their midst. John even told them that they did
not even know him.
They being unable to even recognize that Jesus Christ was right there looking on.
I wonder sometimes just how many times has the Lord been right in our midst and we have not even been aware of his presence?
How many times the Lord has tried to speak to us yet we have not heard him?
Have we rejected him by rejecting someone that the Lord chose to give a word through? Rejecting the Lord by rejecting
his servants? Being judgmental, using the excuse they were not of God or looked different than the rest of the bunch. Possibly
their personality were not to our liking.
Have there been times that the Lord himself has been in the midst of his people and they have not even known?
St. Matthew 13: 54 - 58, here we have Jesus teaching, insomuch that the people were astonished, and they said, whence
hath this man this wisdom and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? This passage of scripture goes on to tell
us that these people were even offended in him. It also tells us that Jesus did not many mighty works there because of their
unbelief.
Jesus Christ the son of God was teaching them words of wisdom yet they could not bring it to their self to accept that
he was the Son of God. They even were offended with him.
Jesus Christ did not mighty works because of their unbelief they rejected him right to his face. He had everything they
would have even needed and they could not accept what the Lord had for them.
They did not see much happen that is for sure, they just forfeited the blessings they could have had due to their pride
and lack of faith.
Have we been guilty of refusing to believe one is of God due to where they are from or what their back ground may have
been in their past?
Have we been guilty of such by not accepting the working of the Lord miracles because we did not believe it was the Lord
Jesus Christ? They did not even know him, were not acquainted with him at all.
Have we insulted the Lord by rejecting his taught word or his works? Possibly rejecting his teaching or his teachers he
has sent to us?
Do we truly know him, acquainted our selves with his spirit?
St. John 1:10-14, He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him to him to them gave
he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
So many have desired the power of God, have done everything they knew how to do trying to activate the power of God, yet
have not had anymore power that a low watt light bulb.
These passages of scripture are telling us how we are to become powered with his spirit we are going to have to know who
he is. Everything that we do is going to have to be all about God acquainting ones self with the Lord know him, all about
lifting him up and not man. Jesus said if I be lifted up I will draw all man unto me.
God does not power up people by works of the flesh, or how good man may think him self to be or even how humble he deems
him self to be. It is not by works of the flesh, it is by his spirit, through him.
Mankind has tried to achieve the glory, the power of God, have deemed himself to be higher than he ought too.
We have polished the outside of our temples and we think we are looking pretty good , looking pretty holy, but the truth
is, God looks at the heart of man and not the outward appearance of man. Note the word appearance, comes for the word appear,
look the part, show the part, but their hearts are far from him and they do not even know he is in the midst.
